Bernese Mountain Dog Puppies for Christmas 2023

One of the interesting/tough things about breeding is that you can never know for sure when your next litter will be born. This was especially tough with Emma being a new dog. I believe Ellie went into heat around 8 months, so that’s what I was expecting with Emma, but nope! I kept waiting and hoping.

Finally, when Emma was about 13 months old, she started showing signs of going into heat. Then, it was all on Finn. I started to wonder, though, because he was acting like normal the whole time.

Then, suddenly things changed. One day, Finn started acting really weird. He was whining and really hyper. I honestly thought something was wrong with him. Nope, next thing I knew, they were breeding to my surprise.

So, with all of that said, I’m pretty sure Emma is pregnant. They tied at least 3 times that I saw. I haven’t taken her in for a scan, so I can’t say 100%, but her behavior has definitely changed. She’s been much lazier. She was already big, so that part has been hard to tell.

So, as long as I’m right, we should have Bernese puppies born sometime around October 20th. The crazy thing is October is my busiest month for my wedding photography business. Hopefully, it all lines up and I’m in town when she gives birth.

After that, we will have them for 2 months, which means they would be going home with their new family roughly around Christmas. Isn’t that crazy? The perfect gift for kids or a loved one.

Right now, I have at least 4 people interested. I don’t do a waiting list because I don’t like taking money without knowing when and what I will have. So, as soon as the puppies are born, I will start taking deposits. Selection will be based off the order I receive the deposits.

If you’d like to be updated about all of this, you can join my email list. I will be sending info out to them before any other posts.
